It's been a while since I've posted about a new tweetup. Then again, this is the first time I've been around during a tweetup in a while!
Meanwhile, the first Thursday of the month is nearly upon us, which means it's time for another tweetup. Melanie (who won't be around for this one) tells me the group agreed to
Tides Tavern. Hopefully the weather will improve by tomorrow and we can sit outside :)

We are holding our monthly Gig Harbor Tweetup at the Amateur Garden Club on June 3rd from 4-7pm, located at 4107 Harborview Drive.

The Amateur Garden Club was the oldest garden club on the peninsula, organized on March 12, 1926 and existed until the mid-‘90s. They hired C.O. Austin Mill to build a vertical log cabin where members could meet — and they used the building until the ‘50s.
Today, the
Amateur Garden Club is a great little coffee shop near the Gig Harbor History Museum. It's located in that same log cabin that the Amateur Garden Club originally met in. The name was chosen to pay tribute to the building's previous occupants.

We managed to get 12 Twitter users show up at Forza Coffee (next to Harbor Greens), including four new people! It's the most people we've had at a Tweetup in the last several months, though not everyone that came to Forza showed up for the Tweetup :)
@BobIngram_RSU (formerly @IslandBoyBob) popped in briefly and was spotted by Kati (among others). Norma and Beth came by Forza, but came to talk privately. I took their pictures for posterity anyway :)

Several of our Gig Harbor Tweetup regulars will be attending the
EnviroCorps Open House, which is being held on April 1st at what would be our usual tweetup time of 4pm. Come learn what EnviroCorps is doing and what part you could play in your local environmental cleanup. There will be a raffle with several great prizes donated by local businesses concerned about the environment. Refreshments will be available including coffee, water, soda, and light snacks. It's that time of the month again where Twitter users from around the area gather together and hang out for a couple hours sharing tips for how to best make use of this new-fangled social media :)
Because we weren't quite as organized as we were last time, we decided to opt for the same location as last time: the
Halftime Saloon, located at 5114 Pt. Fosdick Dr (near Dairy Queen and Key Bank) in Gig Harbor. We had a great time last month! Please

This time around, we had our regularly scheduled Tweetup at the
Halftime Saloon in Gig Harbor. We had a total of 13 people stop, which is the best turnout we've had in a while (our record is currently 16). We had three new faces this time around:

Bernice, the owner of Halftime, ensured we were well taken care of. Our drinks were well tended and our tummies were not empty. I liked the jalapeno pizza she had brought out!
We also discussed the possibility of doing a more "serious" Tweetup quarterly at a quieter location where we could talk as a group about how to best make use of Twitter for personal and business reasons. Not sure if we will do that next time or not, so stay tuned!
In any case, it's time for the part that everyone loves about the post-mortem post--the pictures! So without further ado...

While we've been having regular Twitter meetups (tweetups) in Gig Harbor for nearly a year now, we have always wanted to expand our group beyond folks in just Gig Harbor/Fox Island! We'd love to see people from all over our region at our tweetups--the more the merrier!
This time around, we will be at the
